JAKARTA – NetApp has expanded its Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and Data Center product offerings Bridging (DCB) with the help of Brocade, Emulex, and VMware.

NetApp customers will now have more options to build end-to-end FCoE a complete infrastructure and architecture unites Ethernet and Fiber Channel them.

NetApp, a pioneer and leader in Ethernet storage, will continue to promote the technology to expand the product portfolio with the support of partner solutions. As part of this expansion, NetApp will start selling again Converged Network Adapter (CNA) recently from Emulex, and is the first among the storage vendors to support VMware environments vSphere 4 in FCoE. NetApp also added to their portfolio of Brocade FCoE. In addition to offering Brocade CAN, FCoE blade for the DCX, and top-of-rack switch 8000 FCoE, NetApp-DCB is now introducing a special version of the Brocade 8000.

And partners with NetApp solutions, customers can build a FCoE infrastructure end-to-end while still supporting Fiber Channel investments that have been there and taking a phased approach to consolidate their data centers around Ethernet. By using Emulex oneConnect UCNAs, customers can run FCoE and IP traffic through the port and on the same cable, eliminating the need of the adapter and the SAN and LAN cables are separate.
UCNAs oneConnect Emulex provides maximum performance, regardless of network traffic mix, and outperformed other vendors in several CNAs IT testing by Brand Pulse. Now customers can build their Ethernet infrastructure from time to time while maintaining maximum performance and to protect previous infrastructure investments.

“Philosophy and the power of NetApp has offered a unified storage portfolio and Multiprotocol that benefit both the efficiency and performance to customers. By working closely with our solution partners such as Brocade, Emulex and VMware to continue to develop Ethernet storage, we can provide more choices to customers than ever before to help them simplify and unify the infrastructure and achieve their business breakthrough, “said Patrick Rogers, Vice President of Solutions and Alliances NetApp.

FCoE technology is the foundation on 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE). As a pioneer and leader 100GbE Storage, NetApp has sent nearly 14,000 port 10GbE since their first offering in 2006, in line with technological development, seen an increase of 85 percent over the last seven months. As long as customers consolidate data center resources, they can increase the value and efficiency by dividing the 10GbE network infrastructure with high-bandwidth performance. The increased bandwidth and increased enhancements to support the FCoE make 10GbE a modern data center ideal for the interconnection.
